The Chrysler Town and Country was a car that Chrysler built from 1940 to 1942 and from 1945 to 1988, with production halted during the Second World War. It was mainly a luxury station wagon, but it was also sold in woodie four-door sedan, two-door hardtop and convertible forms from 1947 to 1950, in 1968 and 1969, and from 1983 to 1986. The wagon returned in all-steel form in 1951 on the Windsor and New Yorker, moved to the Newport and New Yorker after the Windsor ended in 1960, and became a standalone model in 1966. The 1988 model year was the last wagon until the name was revived on a minivan for 1990.
