Automobiles

The Wolseley 18/85 of 1938 to 1948 was a six-cylinder car built by Wolseley in the United Kingdom, in production in 1938 and 1939 and again from 1945 until 1948. It stood on a wheelbase of 104 inches, about 2,600 millimetres, and was powered by an 85 horsepower, twin-carburettor, overhead-valve inline six of 2,322 cubic centimetres that it shared with the MG SA. Post-war production, restarted in the autumn of 1945, totalled 8,213 cars. In January 1939 an 18/85 set a London to Cape Town record of 31 days and 22 hours. The name was used again on a different car from 1967 to 1972.
