The Wolseley 10/40 was a lower mid-range car that Wolseley brought out in 1936. It was based on the Morris 10/4 and carried a water-cooled four-cylinder engine of 1,292 cubic centimetres. The car was supplied on a chassis with a wheelbase of 2,540 millimetres. Its career was short: after only one year the slightly smaller Wolseley Ten took its place in the range. The German reference article on the model draws on the Complete Catalogue of British Cars 1895 to 1975 by David Culshaw and Peter Horrobin.
