Renault Nervasport

Automobiles

The Renault Nervasport was a straight-eight engined sporting luxury automobile that Renault introduced in March 1932 and produced until 1935. It was based on the larger and heavier Nervastella and followed Renault's superpuissance formula, in which the engine of a larger model was combined with a shorter chassis and a lighter body, with less standard equipment and a lower price. The first version, the TG 5, used the same 4241 cc flathead inline-eight with 100 PS as the Nervastella, weighed 160 kg less, rode on a 3,130 mm wheelbase and was classified as a 24CV; 540 were built. The ZC 2 of 1933 had streamlined bodywork reminiscent of a period Chrysler and a 4,827 cc engine, and the ACN 1 of 1935 raised the displacement to 5447 cc and 110 PS, with only eight built. The more streamlined Nerva Grand Sport replaced it in 1935 and stayed in production until the summer of 1937.
