Pontiac Standard

Automobiles

The Pontiac Standard Serie 701B, renamed the Master Serie 6BB for 1936, was a mid-range car built by Pontiac, a marque of General Motors, in the 1935 and 1936 model years. It was released on 29 December 1934 as a two-seat coupe or a five-seat sedan, and the sedans came with or without a separate luggage trunk. Its waterfall grille with vertical chrome bars that continued over the bonnet became known as Silver Streak styling. A side-valve inline six-cylinder engine of 3,408 cubic centimetres gave 80 bhp, and the car had hydraulic brakes on all four wheels but, unlike the Deluxe, a rigid front axle. The Deluxe Six replaced it, after 142,770 cars in two years.
