Pontiac Special

Automobiles

The Pontiac Special Serie 25 was a mid-range car that Pontiac, a marque of General Motors, built in the 1940 model year as the successor of the Quality 115. It was clearly longer than its predecessor and had an alligator bonnet and headlamps built into the front wings. It came as a two-door coupe with three or five seats, as a two- or four-door sedan with five seats, or as a five-door station wagon with eight seats. A side-valve inline six-cylinder engine of 3,649 cubic centimetres gave 100 bhp, with a fully synchronised three-speed gearbox, hydraulic brakes on all four wheels and independent front suspension. The Torpedo replaced it for 1941, after a single production year of 106,892 cars.
