The Packard Four was the family of four-cylinder cars that Packard built from 1903 until 1912, the only cars it sold in that period and the ones that established it as a luxury maker. It began with the 1903 Model K, a front-engined car with a radiator grille and a four-speed gearbox, of which 34 were built at 7,300 dollars, the dearest Packard ever. The Models L and M of 1904 brought the sculpted radiator and flat hood, the Model N followed in 1905 and the Model 24 in 1906. In 1907 designations switched to horsepower with the Model Thirty, and in 1909 a cheaper Model Eighteen was added. Shaft drive was used from the start, and the line was replaced by the Packard Six, which phased out the Model 30 and Model 18.
