The Nash Twin Ignition Eight was the first eight-cylinder car of Nash Motors, built at Kenosha, Wisconsin, for the 1930 model year only. The Model 490 came on wheelbases of 3,150 mm or 3,378 mm and used an overhead-valve in-line eight of 4.9 litres with twin ignition, which produced 100 horsepower. Power went through a dry single-plate clutch and a three-speed gearbox with a centre shift to the rear wheels, and all four wheels had mechanical brakes. A wide range of open and closed bodies seated two to seven. In 1931 the Model 890 replaced the Twin Ignition Eight.
