Mercury Medalist

Automobiles

The Medalist was Mercury's low priced model, introduced in September 1955 for the 1956 model year, discontinued with the Custom for 1957 and returned in 1958 as the entry level Mercury. It sat below the Custom, Monterey and Montclair in 1956 and had a single engine choice in that first year, the 312 cubic inch V8. The 1958 return was the last year the Medalist nameplate was used. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1956 to 1958).
