Mercedes-Benz W19

The Mercedes-Benz W 19, sold as the Type 380 S, was an upper middle class cabriolet offered in 1932 and 1933 alongside the Mannheim 380 S. German Wikipedia says it used the same chassis, with a wheelbase of 3,200 millimetres, and the same side-valve inline eight-cylinder engine as the Mannheim car. The engine displaced 3,820 cubic centimetres and developed 85 PS, about 62.5 kilowatts, at 3,200 revolutions a minute, which is why the car was also sold as the 15/85 PS. It differed from the Mannheim 380 S in having a coil-sprung swing axle at the rear and a transverse leaf spring at the front, a construction so different from the earlier W 10 that the new car received its own type designation, W 19. The cabriolets, supplied as A, B or C bodies with leaf-sprung rigid axles, reached 120 kilometres an hour, and the series was replaced by the Type 380 in 1933.
