Mercedes-Benz W 159

Automobiles

The Mercedes-Benz W 159 was a passenger car prototype intended to replace the Type 320, internal type W 142. It did not go into production because of the Second World War. For the W 159 a new six-cylinder engine, the M 159, was developed, and that engine was later used in the L 301 truck. No large Mercedes-Benz passenger car was offered again until the W 186 of 1951,. The German article on it is short and gives no performance figures, dimensions or production dates for this prototype.
