The Mercedes-Benz 540 K lang, internal type W 24, was a special version of the 540 K passenger car built in 1936. Twelve examples were produced alongside the normal 540 K (W 29) on a lengthened chassis with a wheelbase of 3,880 millimetres. All of them were bodied as six-seat tourers and were either delivered to the German Reich government or used by the factory as test cars. Instead of the swing axle of the standard car they had a De Dion rear axle and a rigid front axle. The top speed is given as 140 kilometres per hour. It is one of the small special-purpose series that the Daimler-Benz company built on the 540 K chassis, and its low numbers make it a rare variant of that model.
