The Lancia Aprilia was a family car built by Lancia from 1937 to 1949 and the last design of the founder Vincenzo Lancia, who died in the month production began. It was among the first cars shaped with wind-tunnel work, done with Battista Farina and the Polytechnic University of Turin, and reached a drag coefficient of 0.47. It had four pillarless doors and a V4 engine, first of 1,352 cc and from 1939 of 1,486 cc. Some 20,082 complete cars and 7,554 coachbuilder chassis were made in Turin, with about 700 more in France, where it was sold as the Lancia Ardennes. The last one left the factory on 22 October 1949.
