The Ford Model S was an open car that Ford Motor Company built in the United States in 1907. It followed the Model N, which it resembled with chain drive, a front engine and rear-wheel drive, the main difference being a longer wheelbase. It came in two body styles, a roadster and a runabout, seating three or four, with an inline four-cylinder engine and an open body that originally had neither roof nor lighting. The S runabout appeared late in the 1907 model year, and the S Roadster of the 1908 model year added an enclosed cowl, full fenders and a third rumble seat and sold for 750 dollars, with 3,750 sold between 1908 and 1909. The S Roadster and the Model K Roadster were the last Ford models produced, in the summer of 1908, while Ford retooled for the Model T, which replaced the Model S in 1908 and stayed in production until 1927.
