Dodge Standard

The Dodge Standard was the simplest Dodge of its day, a mid-size six-cylinder car introduced by Dodge Brothers of Detroit in March 1928 and, after Chrysler took over the company in 1928, built for one more year. The first series, numbered 140 and 141, had a side-valve inline six of 3,408 cubic centimetres producing 58 brake horsepower (42.6 kilowatts), a three-speed gearbox and hydraulic brakes on all four wheels. It was renamed the Series J in mid-1928 and ended in early 1929 without a successor. A new Standard, the Series DRXX with a 3,569 cubic centimetre engine of 82 brake horsepower, was offered again from June to November 1934. Bodies included a touring car, sedans, a coupe and a sport convertible.
