The Dodge Special, also called the DS Series, was a six-cylinder passenger car sold by Dodge of Detroit, introduced in January 1934 as successor to the DP Series. It shared its side-valve inline six of 3,569 cubic centimetres, rated at 87 brake horsepower (64 kilowatts), with the sister models Standard and Deluxe, along with a single-plate dry clutch, a three-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The wheelbase was 3,073 millimetres, and the bodies were a four-door Aero-Brougham sedan and a four-door Aero-Brougham convertible; bare chassis with all mechanical parts were also supplied for outside coachbuilders. The Dodge New Value replaced the three sister models from January 1935.
