Dodge DO-Series

The Dodge DO Series was an eight-cylinder passenger car sold by Dodge of Detroit, introduced in January 1933 as the successor to the DK Series. Its side-valve inline eight of 4,623 cubic centimetres produced 100 brake horsepower (74 kilowatts) at 3,400 revolutions a minute, since the weaker engine of the year before had been dropped. A vacuum-operated clutch made it semi-automatic, with a three-speed gearbox and a 3,099 millimetre wheelbase. Bodies were a four-door sedan, two two-door coupes, a five-seat two-door Victoria coupe and a two-door and a four-door convertible, with bare chassis for coachbuilders. It was discontinued in November 1933 without a successor, and Dodge offered eight-cylinder cars again only after the Second World War.
