The Dixi R 8 6/14 PS was a small shaft-driven car of the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach, sold under the Dixi marque. A history of the Eisenach works in the Axel Oskar Mathieu archive says the factory answered rising demand for small cars at the 1907 Berlin motor show with the R 8, a design with a four-cylinder block engine rated 6/14 PS and drive by cardan shaft. The German Wikipedia list of Dixi models dates the car 1908 to 1911, gives its displacement as 1569 cubic centimetres and its top speed as 65 kilometres per hour, and names double phaeton and sports car bodies. It was far smaller than the large U 35 and T series cars that carried the marque's name before the First World War, and it belongs to the early run of Eisenach automobiles built before BMW took over the works in 1928.
