Chrysler Highlander

The Chrysler Highlander was a passenger car that Chrysler offered from 1940 to 1941 with six- and eight-cylinder engines. In the six-cylinder range, which also included the Royal and the Windsor, it was the best equipped variant, with special leather or luxurious cloth trim. Among the eights it sat in the middle, between the Saratoga and the New Yorker. The 1940 six used a side-valve inline six of 3,957 cubic centimetres producing 108 or 112 brake horsepower, and the eight a 5,301 cubic centimetre engine of 135 or 143 brake horsepower. Bodies were a coupe, a convertible and a four-door sedan, and for 1941 two-door and limousine bodies were added. The Highlander dropped out of the range without a successor for 1942.
