Chrysler F-58

The Chrysler F-58 was a small four-cylinder passenger car that Chrysler built in Detroit for the 1926 model year, sold beside the mid-size G-70. The design was taken over from a running-out model of the predecessor company, Maxwell-Chalmers. Its side-valve inline four of 3,045 cubic centimetres produced 38 brake horsepower (28 kilowatts) through a single-plate dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox. At first only the rear wheels had mechanical brakes, and later cars got hydraulic brakes on all four wheels. Five body styles were offered, similar to those of the larger sister model. The Series 50 replaced the F-58 the following year after 81,089 had been built.
