Chrysler CP

The Chrysler Series CP was a large eight-cylinder car that Chrysler built in Detroit only in the second half of the 1932 model year, from January to July 1932. It replaced the Series CD, the first eight-cylinder Chrysler, and was sold beside the Imperial Series CH and CL. Its side-valve inline eight of 4,893 cubic centimetres produced 100 brake horsepower (74 kilowatts) through a four-speed gearbox, with an optional semi-automatic vacuum-operated clutch and hydraulic brakes on all four wheels. Open cars and the LeBaron-bodied sedan had wire wheels, and all-steel bodies appeared for the first time, including a four-door convertible built on a sedan body. 5,113 were made, and the Royal Series CT followed in July 1932.
