Chrysler CA

The Chrysler Series CA was the cheapest Chrysler line for the 1934 model year, built in Detroit as the replacement for the Series CO; a long-wheelbase version was sold as the Series CB. Its side-valve inline six of 3,958 cubic centimetres produced 93 brake horsepower (68 kilowatts), or 100 brake horsepower (74 kilowatts) with higher compression. Along with the CB it was the only Chrysler of that year without the radical Airflow body. New features included one-piece windscreens, front ventilation wings and doors hinged at the rear. Coupes, a convertible and two- and four-door sedans were built on the 2,972 millimetre wheelbase. 23,802 Series CA cars were made before the Airstream Series C6 replaced it for 1935.
