Chrysler 75

The Chrysler Series 75 was the middle six-cylinder line of the Chrysler range for the 1929 model year, built in Detroit as the replacement for the Series 72. Its side-valve inline six of 4,078 cubic centimetres produced 84 brake horsepower (62 kilowatts) through a three-speed gearbox, with hydraulic brakes on all four wheels and key starting for the first time. Twelve body styles were offered, with a narrower radiator surround than before. In 1930 the line returned to the name Series 70 and was joined by a better equipped Series 77 with a longer wheelbase, a four-speed gearbox and a 4,398 cubic centimetre engine of 93 brake horsepower (68 kilowatts). 48,850 Series 75 cars were built; the Series 77 was dropped without a successor in 1931.
