Chrysler 65

The Chrysler Series 65 was a six-cylinder passenger car that Chrysler built in Detroit for the 1929 model year. It replaced the Series 62 and, once the four-cylinder models had been dropped, became the smallest Chrysler line. A side-valve inline six of 3,205 cubic centimetres gave 65 brake horsepower (48 kilowatts) through a three-speed gearbox, with hydraulic brakes on all four wheels and, for the first time, key starting in place of a starter switch. Six body styles were offered. For 1930 the line became the Series 66, with bowl-shaped headlamps and heavier fenders and later a 3,582 cubic centimetre engine of 75 brake horsepower (55 kilowatts). 116,487 Series 65 cars were built, and the Series CM replaced the line in 1931.
