Renault ACZ

The Renault ACZ was a light utility vehicle produced by the French maker Renault in the 1930s, used both as a commercial vehicle and as a military vehicle. It replaced the older Renault OS. Like the ADZ and ADK of the same range, it has a four-cylinder in-line petrol engine of 2.38 litres with the code name 85, which was used on Renault light utility vehicles until the 1950s, giving 48 hp at 3,000 rpm, with a single-plate manual clutch and four forward gears and one reverse. The front suspension is reinforced, the rear tyres are twinned, the wheelbase is 3,345 mm and the payload is 1.3 tonnes. It was produced from 1935 to 1938 in several versions: the ACZ1 with a petrol engine from 1935 to 1937, the ACZ G1 and G2 running on petrol or town gas in 1936 and 1937, and the ACZ H with a producer-gas unit in 1938. In 1936 the French Army ordered 52 radio vans, delivered in the summer of 1937.
