The Nissan Vanette is a cabover van and pickup truck that the Japanese automaker Nissan produced from 1978 until 1994. Production in Malaysia continued until about 2010, and Nissan went on using the Vanette name on a rebadged Mazda Bongo with a more commercial purpose until 2017. The first two generations were engineered by Nissan's Aichi Manufacturing Division, and the van was also sold as the Nissan Sunny-Vanette or Nissan Van. The passenger version was replaced by the Nissan Serena in 1991 and the Vanette name was kept in various international markets. Its roots go back to the 1962 Datsun Cablight and the Datsun Sunny Cab and Nissan Cherry Cab introduced in 1969, one size smaller than the Prince Homer truck and Homy van. Both two-wheel and four-wheel drive versions were built, with manual and automatic transmissions, and the Vanette Largo of October 1982 was a wider, longer version. Production ended around 2010 and the Nissan NV200 replaced it.
