The Bedford Midi was a medium sized van built from 1985 to 1987 by Bedford Vehicles and then until 1996 by IBC Vehicles, the Isuzu and General Motors joint venture that took over the Luton van plant. It replaced the Bedford CF and was in essence an Isuzu WFR assembled at Luton with some changes made by Vauxhall, using Isuzu four cylinder petrol engines of 1.8 and 2.0 litres, diesels of 2.0 and 2.2 litres and a 2.4 litre turbodiesel. It came with a short or long wheelbase and a normal or high roof, the minibus version was called the Albany, and it was revised in 1989 with a new dashboard, seats, door trims and front end. The Midi marked the end of Bedford's own van designs, because General Motors found it cheaper to use designs from its sister companies, and in 1997 the Vauxhall Arena replaced it.
