In September 1963 the Vitesse received its first facelift, when the dashboard was revised with a full range of Smith instruments instead of the large single dial from the Herald, with a large speedometer and cable driven tachometer flanked by smaller 2 inch fuel and temperature gauges. The Vitesse of 1963 was a compact six cylinder car built by Standard-Triumph, in saloon and convertible form. The dashboard was revised that year.
