In 1956 the front brakes of the Triumph TR3 were changed from drums to discs, a first for a British series production car. The TR3 of 1956 was the traditional open two seater from the Standard Motor Company of Coventry, an evolution of the TR2 with greater power and improved braking, and it was in its second year of production. The disc brakes were fitted to the front wheels. The car was an open two seater built at Coventry.
