Roewe RX8

Automobiles

The Roewe RX8 is a mid-size SUV built by SAIC Motor and the flagship SUV of the Roewe brand, replacing the Roewe W5. It debuted in April 2018 at the Beijing Auto Show in five and seven seat variants, and it shares a shortened version of the same body on frame platform as the Maxus D90 full size SUV, also made by SAIC Motor. The engine is a 2.0 litre turbo of 224 horsepower and 360 N m with a six speed automatic, both shared with the D90; base cars are rear wheel drive and higher trims are all wheel drive. An MG RX8 rebadge launched in the Middle East in September 2019, with a ground clearance of 202 mm and a wading depth of 800 mm, and reached Mexico on 27 September 2021 in a single Elegance trim. Roewe lists the RX8 as a former model, 2018 to 2023.
