Isuzu Panther

Automobiles

The Isuzu Panther is a series of station wagons and pickup trucks that Isuzu built from 1991 until 2020, aimed mainly at Southeast Asian buyers. It was introduced in Indonesia in 1991 as a pickup and a coachbuilder-made station wagon powered by a 2.3 litre diesel engine shared with the Chevrolet Trooper. A second generation, launched in September 2000, was a wagon only and loosely based on the Isuzu MU. Developed together with General Motors as the 160 Project, the second generation was also made in India as the Chevrolet Tavera, and the Panther sold in the Philippines and Vietnam as the Hi-Lander and later the Crosswind. It was built as a durable vehicle suited to carrying large loads of passengers or cargo in local climate and road conditions.
