Isuzu MU

Automobiles

The Isuzu MU is a mid-size sport utility vehicle that Isuzu of Japan produced from 1989 to 2005. The three-door MU arrived in 1989 and the five-door MU Wizard followed in 1990; both were based on the Isuzu Faster pickup of 1988 and shared bodywork and most internal components from the front doors forward, with rear-wheel and four-wheel drive layouts. The letters stand for Mysterious Utility. Production of the first generation ended in 1998, after which the five-door model dropped the MU prefix and became the Isuzu Wizard. The short-wheelbase model was sold under many names, including the Honda Jazz in Japan, the Isuzu Amigo and Rodeo Sport in the United States and the Opel Frontera Sport in Europe.
