The Freestyle was Ford's first crossover utility vehicle, a seven seat wagon on the D3 platform built at Chicago, sold as a 2005 model largely in place of the Taurus station wagon beside the Five Hundred sedan. It was renamed the Taurus X for 2008 after the Taurus name returned, and it ended in 2009, with the Flex as its unofficial successor. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Freestyle (2005 to 2007); the Taurus X (2008 to 2009).
