Citroen C-Crosser

Automobiles

The Citroën C-Crosser is a compact crossover SUV that went on sale in July 2007. Citroën designed it for its range, but Mitsubishi built it on the basis of the Outlander, and the Peugeot 4007 is its badge-engineered twin. A name of C7 was expected until October 2006, when C-Crosser was announced, taken from a four-wheel drive concept shown at the 2001 Frankfurt show. With the 4007 it was the first Japanese-built car sold under a French brand. Planned European assembly in the Netherlands was postponed because sales were slow, and from 2011 assembly moved to a joint venture plant at Kaluga in Russia. Seven people fit when the two rear seats rise from the floor. A 2.2 litre diesel and a 2.4 litre petrol engine were offered, and a panel van version was sold in the United Kingdom. Production ended in March 2012 and the C4 Aircross took over.
