The BYD Datang, also known in English as the BYD Great Tang, is a battery electric and plug-in hybrid full-size SUV produced by BYD Auto and the flagship model of BYD's Dynasty line. It was previewed by the Dynasty-D concept shown at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on 29 April 2025, and it was officially revealed at BYD's Technology Day on 5 March 2026, with sales planned around the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. It is offered in a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, uses the Dynasty series dragon face design language, and carries a LiDAR sensor above the windshield. BYD's second-generation Blade battery and flash charging technology allow a 10 to 70 percent charge in 5 minutes, and the suspension is a dual-chamber air system with four-wheel steering. BYD reported more than 100,000 pre-orders by 7 May 2026.
