Lancia LC2

Automobiles

The Lancia LC2, sometimes called the Lancia-Ferrari, was a series of racing cars built by Lancia with engines from its sister company Ferrari, and the company's first car to meet the FIA's Group C sports prototype rules. Lancia ran it as a factory effort in the World Sportscar Championship from 1983 to 1986, and privateer teams used it until 1991. Dallara built the aluminium monocoque and the kevlar and carbon fibre bodywork, and the engine was a turbocharged Ferrari V8, first cut to 2.6 litres and from 1984 back at 3.0 litres with just under 840 hp. It often took pole position against the Porsche 956 but reliability and fuel use held back race wins, and it won three races. Seven were built under Lancia and two more for Gianni Mussato.
