The Lancia LC1 was a Group 6 sports car run by Lancia in the World Endurance Championship and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1982 and 1983, built as Lancia's step up from production-based racing with the Beta Montecarlo Turbo in Group 5. It had a Dallara chassis with an open cockpit and a 1,425 cc straight-4 Lancia engine with a single turbocharger, and Martini Racing ran the programme in Martini and Rossi colours. Because Group 6 was being phased out for Group C, the car could not score in the Manufacturers Championship, yet it won three races and took three pole positions in 1982, and Riccardo Patrese finished eight points behind Jacky Ickx in the Drivers Championship. The project was dropped in 1983 for the Group C Lancia LC2, although Sivama Motor modified two LC1s with closed cockpits that season.
