The Lancia D20 is a competition car built by Lancia of Turin in 1952 and 1953, a purpose designed racing car that began the family leading to the D23 and D24. Designed by Vittorio Jano and derived from the Aurelia but technically distinct from it, it has a 60 degree V6 engine of almost three litres giving over 215 horsepower at 6500 rpm, with four overhead camshafts, double ignition and three twin choke carburettors, independent suspension on all four wheels and a Pininfarina coupe body. Seven were built, five cars and two prototypes, and four of the eleven planned were converted into the D23 spider. In 1953 the berlinettas won the Targa Florio and the Palermo to Monte Pellegrino hill climb and finished third in the Mille Miglia, but retired at Le Mans.
