The Roewe 750 was an executive saloon built by Roewe in China from 2006 to 2016, based on the Rover 75 whose technology SAIC acquired after the collapse of MG Rover. Launched in October 2006 and codenamed SAC528 in development, it had a wheelbase stretched by 103 mm over the Rover 75 and no estate or performance versions. The launch drivetrain was a 2.5 litre V6 petrol engine of 184 bhp, derived from the Rover KV6 and called NV6, with a new five speed automatic gearbox; a turbocharged 1.8 litre petrol engine of around 160 bhp, based on the Rover K-series, followed. Trim levels were 750D, 750E and 750i, the last adding satellite navigation and a television and DVD system. SAIC Roewe claimed top speeds of 205 km/h for the four cylinder and 220 km/h for the V6, and the car was also exported under the MG marque to markets including Peru, Chile, Algeria and Egypt.
