The Peugeot 908 RC was a concept car built by the French maker Peugeot and shown to the public at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, with the first official pictures released in August 2006. It was conceived as a luxury four-door limousine, and its centrepiece was the 5.5 litre V12 HDi diesel engine taken from the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP racing prototype. The engine sat centrally and across the car, sent about 700 bhp to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox, and the makers claimed a top speed of 186 mph. The car rode on a 3,150 mm wheelbase, measured 5,123 mm long and 1,370 mm high, used double wishbone suspension at both ends and stopped on carbon ceramic discs made by Brembo. It shows how Peugeot used its endurance racing diesel technology to imagine a flagship road car.
