Lancia Gamma

Automobiles

The Lancia Gamma, Tipo 830, was Lancia's flagship executive car of the late 1970s and early 1980s, shown at the 1976 Geneva Motor Show. It came as a four-door fastback saloon called the Berlina, built from 1976 to 1984, and as a two-door coupe from 1977 to 1984, both designed at Pininfarina, with 15,272 and 6,790 built respectively. It was front-wheel drive with a longitudinally mounted flat-four engine of 2.5 or 2.0 litres, the latter to avoid heavier Italian tax on larger engines, and a five-speed manual gearbox. Its unusual power steering pump drive was a known weak point. It succeeded the Lancia 2000, and the name returns on a crossover planned for 2026.
