The Lancia Flavia, Tipo 815, 819 and 820, was an executive car built by Lancia from 1961 to 1971, introduced at the 1960 Turin Motor Show and designed by Antonio Fessia to fill the gap between the Appia and the Flaminia. It was front-wheel drive with a 1.5 litre aluminium flat-four, the first boxer engine in an Italian production car, and had Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. It began as a four-door saloon, then gained a Pininfarina coupe, a Vignale convertible and a Zagato sport coupe, and engine size grew to 1,991 cc. It was updated in 1970 as the Lancia 2000. The name comes from the Via Flavia, a Roman road to Dalmatia.
