Lancia Dedra

Automobiles

The Lancia Dedra, Type 835, was a compact executive saloon built from 1989 to 1999 and meant first to support and then replace the Prisma. It was designed by Ercole Spada of the I.DE.A Institute, had a drag coefficient of only 0.29, and sat on the Fiat Tipo platform shared with the Fiat Tempra and the Alfa Romeo 155. Lancia pitched it on comfort, materials such as Alcantara, and quiet. A turbocharged Integrale version using the Delta Integrale engine arrived in 1991 and an estate body followed in 1994. It sold best in Italy, and 418,150 saloons and 44,488 station wagons were made. Lancia withdrew it from right-hand-drive markets in 1994.
