Humber Super Snipe

Automobiles

The Humber Super Snipe was a large British saloon built by Humber Limited from 1938 to 1967. It was introduced in October 1938 by combining the four-litre inline six-cylinder engine of the Humber Pullman with the chassis and body of the Humber Snipe, which gave a top speed of 79 mph. It was marketed to upper-middle-class managers, professional people and government officials, and in the Second World War it served as a British military staff car while its chassis was used for the Humber Light Reconnaissance Car. After the war it passed through Marks I to IV, the series ending in 1957 with the Mark IVB, and a new Super Snipe line of Series I to V followed.
