The DS 9 is an executive car introduced in 2020 and the flagship of the DS luxury line, slotted above the DS 3, DS 4 and DS 7 Crossback in size. It was the company's first vehicle marketed in both Europe and Asia but assembled solely in China, at the Shenzhen plant that Baoneng Group took over after the end of the Changan PSA joint venture. It was unveiled to the press on 27 February 2020, after planned debuts at Auto Shanghai and Auto Guangzhou were postponed, and its Geneva Motor Show appearance was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It rides on the EMP2 modular platform of Groupe PSA, with a dashboard largely inspired by the DS 7 Crossback, and offers a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine or an eTense plug-in hybrid with a combined output of 225 PS.
