The Citroen C-Quatre is a smaller, cheaper and more fashionably styled version of the Citroen C4 built for China from 2009, which came as a saloon and as a hatchback. It appeared alongside the larger C-Triomphe saloon, and at 4,588 millimetres long on a wheelbase of 2,608 millimetres it was smaller than the car it accompanied. In late 2011 the hatchback gained an off-road styled variant called the C4 Cross, and at the 2012 Shanghai Motor Show Citroen showed a facelift of the whole C-Quatre range. The saloon was later replaced by a Chinese-market Citroen C4 saloon, known in full as the Dongfeng Citroen C4 Sega, which was based on it and shared its platform, its wheelbase and its 1.6 litre base engine. That successor sold poorly, with 102,597 built, and more four-door C-Quatre cars were sold in 2012 alone.
