The Chrysler Valiant RV1, also called the R Series, was the first Australian Chrysler Valiant, built by Chrysler Australia from January to March 1962. Completely knocked down packs were imported from Windsor in Canada, the bodies were painted at Chrysler Australia's Mile End facility and final assembly took place at Tonsley Park. It combined parts of the American Valiant V100 base model and V200 deluxe model, was offered only as a four-door sedan in manual and automatic versions, and had the Slant Six engine, inclined 30 degrees to the right. Chrysler Australia built 1,008 before the SV1 replaced it.
