The Chrysler AP5 Valiant was the third Chrysler Valiant model built in Australia, produced by Chrysler Australia from 1963 until 1965. Released in May 1963 to replace the SV1, it was the first Valiant manufactured rather than just assembled in Australia, based on the 1963 Plymouth Valiant with new sheet metal, a six-bar grille and a larger boot. The 225 cubic inch slant six was imported, and the range grew to include the upmarket Regal and, from November 1963, the Safari and Regal Safari wagons. It came as a four-door sedan and five-door wagon, and 49,440 were built, 37,292 sedans and 12,148 wagons.
