BYD Seal

Automobiles

The BYD Seal is a battery electric mid-size sedan from BYD Auto and the second car of its Ocean series after the smaller Dolphin. It is built on the e-Platform 3.0 and an 800-volt electrical system and uses a structural battery that raises body stiffness; BYD quotes a drag coefficient of 0.219. The Seal was announced in China in May 2022 after being previewed as the Ocean-X concept in September 2021, and deliveries began in August 2022. A 61.4 or 82.5 kilowatt-hour Blade battery gives a CLTC range of 550 to 700 kilometres, top speed is limited to 180 kilometres per hour, and the all-wheel-drive Performance version is claimed to reach 100 kilometres per hour in 3.8 seconds. BYD sells other models under the Seal name, including the Seal 05, 06, 07, 08 and the Seal U SUV.
