BYD Qin L DM-i

Automobiles

The BYD Qin L DM-i is a plug-in hybrid mid-size sedan made by BYD Auto since 2024 as part of the Dynasty Series. It sits between the smaller Qin Plus DM-i and the larger Han DM-i and is the largest Qin so far, at more than 4.8 metres long. It was announced just before the Beijing Auto Show in April 2024 and launched in China on 28 May 2024 in five variants, named for electric ranges of 80 or 120 kilometres. It is one of the first two BYD cars, with its sister model the Seal 06 DM-i, to use the fifth-generation DM-i 5.0 plug-in hybrid system, for which BYD claims fuel use of 2.9 litres per 100 kilometres and a combined range above 2,000 kilometres. A model-year 2026 update in January 2026 added a variant with a 25.28 kilowatt-hour battery and a 175 kilowatt motor.
